Is the film suitable for children?

free guy starring Ryan Reynolds finally hits theaters on August 13, 2021. The movie looks like a lot of fun as it follows a living character in a video game, but Ryan Reynolds isn’t exactly known for his kid-friendly projects. Is the free guy movie suitable for children?

When you think of Ryan Reynolds, dead Pool probably comes to mind, a film that is not family friendly. Can the same be said of free guy or is this movie acceptable for everyone in the family to watch? Here’s what we know!

free guy follows a guy simply known as Guy (Reynolds), a non-player character living inside Free City, a game. When Guy learns who he is and the game developer shuts down Free City, it’s a race against time to become the hero the game needs.

The film also stars Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Taika Waititi, Joe Keery and others.

Fun concept and great cast, but you’re probably still wondering about the movie’s rating.

What is the rating of the movie Free Guy?

Rotten Tomatoes shares that the free guy The film is rated PG-13 for language, crude and suggestive references, and strong fantasy violence.

A PG-13 rating means the target audience is those 13 and older. Anyone under the age of 13 cannot enjoy the film as it may not be suitable for young eyes.

Ultimately, the choice is up to the parent! If you have a kid who loves video games and has seen other PG-13 movies, they might be able to handle this one. Otherwise, I would watch another movie more appropriate for them.

Also at the cinema this weekend: RESPECT, Don’t Breathe 2, CODA, The Kissing Booth 3 (Netflix) and others. August 2021 will also see the release of The Night House, PAW Patrol, and Candyman. What movie are you looking forward to the most?
