After actor Lisa Ray criticized the creators of Saaho for plagiarism, a French director spoke out against the film, accusing the directors of star Prabhas-Shraddha Kapoor of having copied his film, Largo winch.
According to IMDb, the plot of Largo winch, directed by Jérôme Salle, is: “After the assassination of a powerful billionaire, his secret adopted son must run to prove his legitimacy, find his father’s killers and prevent them from taking over his financial empire.”
The plot of Saaho strangely resembles the French thriller. The director noticed the Tollywood movie after a few fans tweeted, pointing out the similarities between Saaho and Largo winch.
“I think I have a promising career in India,” Salle tweeted sarcastically after learning that the Telugu film may have been more than inspired by his work.
In another tweet he said: “It looks like this second Largo Winch freemake is just as bad as the first one. So please Telugu directors if you steal my work at least do it. correctly?
And since my “Indian Career” tweet was of course ironic, I’m sorry but I couldn’t help you. “
Last year, after the release of Pawan Kalyan starrer Agnyaathavaasi, the French director had claimed that the film was a copy of Largo winch.
A few days ago accusing Saaho Creators of plagiarism, Lisa Ray took to Instagram to share two photos – one of the movie poster and the original artwork – and tagged artist Shilo Shiv Suleman, the artist.
There were also allegations that one of the movie posters was a copy of the poster from Blade Runner 2049, with Ryan Gosling.
