The bros are back in town!
If you’ve been patiently waiting for the Brothers movie to be released or even if it’s the first time you hear about it, you have to keep an eye out. The film will be the first gay romantic comedy to be released by a major animation studio.
Why is Bros rated R?
Brothers is billed as a romantic comedy, but it’s a movie more suited to older adults. The MPAA gave the film an R rating for strong sexual content, nudity, pervasive language, and drug and alcohol use.
According to IMDB’s Parent’s Guide, alcohol consumption is important. The film is set in New York City, which is infamous for its bottomless bar scene in addition to a few club/party scenes.
As evidenced by the trailer, there are references to sexual activity and nudity and since sexuality and gender play a huge part in this movie, that means you’ll witness public displays of affection and private throughout the film, as is often the case in most romantic comedies. from the creative mind of Nicholas Stollar (Forget Sarah Marshall and Neighbors).
East Brothers good for older teens to watch? Well, my cinephile friend, it’s up to you. The film that has an R rating attached includes a recommendation that children under 17 can see in theaters if accompanied by an adult.
All in all, if you’re over 18 and looking for a romantic comedy to enjoy your week, you might find what you’re looking for in Brothers. For those of you looking for the official red band trailer, you’ve come to the right place. Check it out below:
